Dr Bhavik Modi
Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and Honorary Associate Professor, Glenfield Hospital
Dr Bhavik Modi is a leading Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Glenfield Hospital. He is also an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Leicester and an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at University College London Hospitals.
Dr Modi studied Medicine at Cambridge University. Following this, he undertook all his medical and cardiology training around teaching hospitals in London, such as The Hammersmith, The Royal Brompton and Barts Heart Centre. During his Cardiology training, he also did an award winning PhD from St Thomas’ Hospital and the University of London. He completed his training at Barts Heart Centre and was appointed Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at University College London Hospitals NHS Trust. Following this he was appointed Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Glenfield Hospital, covering Leicestershire and the wider East Midlands region.
He is a recognised national expert in other management and treatment of coronary artery disease. More recently, he is a National HSJ Award winner (2022) for implementation of a novel Regional Heart Attack Pathway. He is now regarded as a national expert in secondary prevention following Acute Coronary Syndromes and is engaging in work to transform Secondary Prevention Pathways Nationwide and across Europe.
