Dr Roger Henderson

Senior GP

Dr Roger Henderson qualified as a doctor from St Bartholomew's Hospital, London in 1985, and as a general practitioner in 1990. 

He entered the media world in 1995, and within 2 years was the medical columnist for the Sunday Times. He is one of the UKs most respected health broadcasters, writes for a number of national publications, and was the global content creator for Healthwords – one of the world’s first conversational AI tools focused solely on providing healthcare advice and self-care products in the UK. He is also a presenter and podcaster for the GP education site GP Notebook, writes for Pulse and Guidelines in Practice, and appears regularly on the television, radio and online. 

He is a senior GP, most recently as the head of a 15,000-patient general practice where he was also a GP trainer, running his large main surgery and two branch surgeries including a University campus. He was also a prison doctor during that time. He now works as a sessional GP, and is a judge for the annual UK 2024 General Practice awards. 

He has written and given presentations at multiple UK and global health conferences over the last 25 years, and remains involved with speaking at and chairing many online talks and presentations. In 2023 he launched two dermatology podcasts, available on all podcast platforms; Skin Deep - for the general public – and Rash Decisions for health care professionals.
